We don't know about you Scavvers, but the judges love Halloween. We also love The ScavHunt. So behold...... The ScavHuntoweeninator If you find a way to incorporate a challenge into your Halloween festivities, make sure to say so in your challenge description.
We'll be showcasing our best ScavHuntoween submissions in a blog on November 1st, so have those in by the end of October. And if you're still looking for a costume, may we recommend challenge #126? ;)

Good morning Scavvers!
First of all, some of your challenge submissions are amazing! We're working hard to keep those leaderboards updated (which, based on the site statistics, you all like to check a lot). We wanted to take a quick break from judging this morning and share our top three quotes from all of you Scavvers: "You judges are very mysterious...." ~Beautiful Destroyers Team Captain "FLVS ScavHunt is AMAZING!" ~Absolute Zero Team Captain "The ScavHunt stimulates insanity." ~T Squared I think these pretty much sum up what the ScavHunt is all about, so if you haven't registered yet, don't delay. And to all of you Scavvers, keep up the awesome work! Hopefully by now you have finished or are almost finished with those Starting Challenges. Once you've submitted all of those, you'll get a list from the judges with the main challenges. You can complete these in any order you want. In order to help your team get started, here's five tips for ScavHunting.
1. Check the blog. No, it's not just because we want you to read our blog. This is the place for updates, fun facts, inspiration, and kudos. Keep an eye out for ideas or even just to tell the rest of your team when your team gets kudos for a challenge well done. Plus, you never know what helpful things the judges might share- like 5 Tips from the Judges on ScavHunting. ;) 2. Watch the leaderboards. We update the leaderboards very often, so it's always good to watch those and see how your team stacks up. 3. Prioritize. We're not going to lie: that's a lot of challenges. Don't get overwhelmed, just read through the list and see what jumps out at you. We guarantee there's at least one challenge that can be completed in under a minute. When trying to decide what to work on, keep in mind that some will take longer than others and some are worth more points than others. 4. Play to your strengths. Fun fact: there's one challenge that we tailored especially for each FLVS club. Figure out which challenges lie in your area of expertise and consider doing those first. 5. Multitask. Especially for larger teams, try to work on multiple challenges at once. Definitely be brainstorming for at least a few at once. This will help you complete more challenges. What's up Scavvers? The Judges are excited to announce that we just received the very first submission for the ScavHunt. There was quite a lot of cheering when the judges saw it. Kudos to Team Challenger for starting off the submissions of the starting challenges!
Yes, yes we did. The judges are getting bored so we've decided to start scoring submissions immediately rather then waiting until the official start of the contest on Monday. We hope you and your team have started on those starting challenges or you're going to end up looking like this... |
